With our military already stretched thin, Americans are
justifiably concerned that the military draft will be
reinstated.

Although  bills to reinstate the draft were recently defeated
for political reasons (Universal National Service Act of 2003-
-H.R.
163
and the companion Senate bill--S.89), new bills can be
drafted and passed within a week.
In fact, Representative
Charles Rangel from time to time
introduces
draft bills.

Since the bills called for a military draft of young men AND
women aged 18 to 26, with no student deferment, we can
expect the same of a new bill.

We must act NOW to stop a draft before it starts!

As parents no one treasures our children more than we do. We
raised and cared for them, looking forward to their blossoming
into young adults. We want to do everything possible to keep
them to be safe.

Now our  hopes for our children may be in jeopardy, their paths
derailed. We watch the horrific events in Iraq unfold before us
each day, the tragic loss of life and limb of our young soldiers.
We grieve for the parents who have lost their precious children,
and we think, “What if it  were my child?”

We parents must not be caught off guard. Now is the time to
begin expressing our strong feelings against a reinstatement
of the draft to our representatives in office—Before it is too
late!

We urge you to contact your representativess to the  House and
Senate as soon as possible.

Please spread the word by telling your friends and family about

please
contribute what you can so we can become a powerful
voice
to help our kids fulfill their promise.
